Welcome to Paris. I have just returned from a trade fair in Paris for French Travel specialists where I renewed old contacts and made new ones. It is these people who make it happen for you. I have come up with a beautiful 3 star hotel on the left bank. They have given me some great rates on their superior rooms.
I was fortunate to venture down to the Basque country in the Southwest of the country that boarders Spain at the foot of the Pyrenees. Like other areas of France it has its own culture and gastronomic delights.
My favourite place was St-Jean de Luz which has some wonderful accommodation and absolutely adored the …..Restaurant that boosts 2 Michelin stars. I would base myself here rather than the glitzy Biarritz.
This trip ended with a trip to the World War I infamous battlefield at the Somme. I’m not in to battlefields myself but this was particularly interesting & moving as I was taken specifically where the Australians fought.You can dig yourself for relics; mind you watch out for unexploded ordinances. If you go its important to get someone to show you the areas that are of interest to you.
