France- The destination for all Seasons.
 Sonia’s passion for France originates from the age of ten, when she lived in France with her family in the city of Versailles, within walking distance of ‘The Chateau.’
The changes in the travel industry has led Sonia to develop a new programme specializing in ‘France as a destination’, namely 'France Vacations.'
In 2007, Sonia participated in Southern France Hotel Barge Show and experienced first hand, the exquisite journey along the Canal du Midi, aboard ‘Tango and Fandango’ This luxurious experience included enjoying all aspects of the local wines, cuisine and breathtaking beauty of the villages, chateaux and the friendly people of the South Of France.
The next journey was cruising ‘Le Phenicien Barge” on the tranquil waterways of the Camargue and the Rhone river, meandering through the Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon regions.
She also attended Rendez-Vous Strasbourg Travel exhibition, which enabled her to make direct contact with travel suppliers, tour operators, hoteliers, walking/ cycling companies, French speaking schools/ cooking courses, just to name a few.
Sonia brings a wealth of knowledge to this newly created venture – 'France Vacations.' With the combination of the expertise of the staff at Hawthorn Travel and local knowledge of French vacation possibilities, this allows clients the ‘full travel service.’
‘France Vacations’ endeavours to impart specific information to clients on travel opportunities within each season, focussing on activities to be experienced, during the year, including :
- Paris in the Spring
- Barging in the Summer
- Walking/Cycling in the Autumn
- Ski Megeve in the Winter
France is a destination with finesse, culture, delectable delights and the ‘Ooh La La Factor.’
